Shaped Cloth Nappies - Sized
Sized cloth nappies, which come in two or more different sizes, give you a good fit at each stage, with a less bulky and neater nappy at the newborn stage, and then a larger, more absorbent cloth nappy for older babies. Some of the cloth nappies come in more than 2 sizes, but most babies will only need the small and large (or size 1 and 2). If you need advice, please do ask!

In some cases, the larger size cloth nappy can be used as a birth to potty nappy, which usually works out as the most economical birth to potty system - I have indicated in the product description where this is possible. Some cloth nappies might need additional boosters for night-time use, these can be found in our nappy boosters section.

If the choice seems a bit over-whelming, remember that all the reusable nappies I sell are also available to try before you buy, through the Plush Pants Cloth Nappy Trial Scheme.

Plush Pants Full Review
Ranked as a Best Buy by Ethical Consumer 2007! The Nature Babies Diddy Diaper proved such a popular little nappy for newborns, that a larger size was introduced, which will see your child right up to potty training age. This British made cloth nappy is free fastening, it features soft cotton jersey on the inside, and stretch unbleached snag free terry on the outside, providing 5 layers in total for great absorbency. Two fastening options are available, the nippa version requires a nappy nippa (sold separately), and an Aplix fastening is now available.

Ethical Consumer gave this product a score of 15 in their Ethiscore Review in November 2007, to see the other results click here.

As the name suggests, this is a "diddy" nappy, the small size is great for newborns, and will adjust to fit premature babies (fold front down to suit). The side tabs are quite long, making this nappy quite adjustable on the tummy, and it will fit babies up to around 13-18lbs depending on build. Most commonly we find it fits up to about 16lbs. Nature Babies have now introduced a larger size, with an additional layer of booster sewn in, which you can then use until potty training. Containment is excellent, and it copes easily with breastfed babies poo. This nappy is easy to use, fairly quick to dry, and slim under clothes (especially good under trousers as it's slim on the hips). What more could you ask for? Some shrinkage will occur when the nappy is first washed.

Customer Reviews:
These nappies are fantastic! The stretch terry makes them more versatile and they fit a greater weight range due to their long stretchy tabs. Very absorbant and not too bulky. The only con is that if you dont have a tumble dryer then they can take a while to dry.

These are soft, absorbent, very easy to use and excellent value for money. However they would probably be more suited to longer babies than my daughter. She is now 15lb and they fit fine round the waist but they're still a little high on the rise.

I bought a large diddy diaper for my son and was very surprised at how well this nappy performed. Is is quite thick and absorbent and tends to stay quite soft after washing. It is quite high in the rise, but fits my son very well. My only negative point would be that it isn't that wide between the legs, but for its price I think it is good value for money and does the job pretty well!

I have been pleasantly surprised by these nappies. They fit really well and are nice and slim fitting on the hips. The long tabs mean they should last a long time and they stay nice and soft after washing. Also a very nice price - very highly recommended.

I have tried Kissiluvs, and Tots bots but this is the best nappy I have tried so far! It is a really slim fit which is great for my chubby boy, and is more absorbant than it looks. I have just ordered the bigger sized nappies as I am so pleased with them! I think the nappy grippers are better than the velcro style nappies as they are easier to wash and do not go as hard.

I only bought one of these to try. I live in a hard water area and have found that it has gone very hard. It also takes a while to dry. I prefer prefolds and have also used muslins very successfully. If you can't be bothered with folding then this is a good low cost shaped nappy option. Works as well as tots bots fluffle (or maybe better even) and is much slimmer fitting so baby can actually bend legs and sit which I've found a bit of a problem with some of the other nappies I've tried! Also easier to fit trousers over the top.

I really wanted to love these as they are so soft and comfy on the inside. Unfortunately, I found that they just could not cope with my little one's wees or breastfed poos. My little boy could soak one in an hour as a newborn. I dreaded when he pooed too because I just knew it was going to run out the leg and into the wrap. I just couldn't get them snug enough around his legs.

Found these absorbant, contained explosive poo (breastfed) & not too bulky (applix) - also no nappy rash & dired quick especially when dried in airing cupboard

I love these, my all time fave. Soft and lovely to touch, so easy to wash and they dry in no time, ideal for busy parents
