Cotton, Fleece and Wool Wraps
Sometimes it's nice to have baby in something that just looks and feels more "breathable" than the standard PUL wraps. So here I offer you some alternative options with cotton, fleece and wool wraps. If you're new to these wraps and want to try them out before you buy, the fleece and cotton wraps are included in the Plush Pants Cloth Nappy Trial Scheme.

Plush Pants Full Review
This gorgeous soft felted wool nappy wrap or woolpant from Imse Vimse, is made from 100% pure new wool - this is a luxurious natural nappy cover for your baby. Ideal for use at night, or for babies with sensitive skin. Available in five sizes, though they are very adjustable so you may find you can skip a size, depending on the nappy you're using it with. If using over a bigger nappy, go up a size, as this is designed to work with the slim Imse Vimse nappies.

The Wool Pant has a velcro fastening with the same wide panel as the cotton Imse Vimse nappy wrap, making it very adjustable, and can often be made to fit down a bit below the suggested weight range. The medium and large sizes also have a single snap fastening at the hip on each side, for extra security.

Caring for wool wraps is easier than you may think, in fact I think it's an ideal product for busy parents! When you take the wrap off your baby, simply air dry it without washing. Hard though it is to believe, the lanolin in the wool acts with urine to produce saponins, which sanitise the wrap and stop it smelling. The wrap may smell of wee when you take it off, but will be odourless when dry. If any smell does linger once dry, wash the wrap with a wool shampoo (see nappy cleansing products section). You should also re-lanolin when necessary - if any seepage is occurring - Imse Vimse suggest doing so about once a month, though you may well find you don't need to do it quite so often.

Wash at 30deg. with wool shampoo, or by hand, if the wrap smells of wee when dry. Re-lanolin as necessary.

Customer Reviews:
I've been using the wool wraps since my daughter was 4 weeks old. They've been great so far and I'll be buying more as she gets bigger. It's really important though to treat them regularly otherwise the absorbency is affected and you can end up with soggy patches on both their clothes and yours! The Ecologist recommended them as the most environmentally friendly wrap option. Not just comfy for your baby but for the environment too!
